Magee Women’s Hospital is a tertiary care obstetrics hospital with a level 3 NICU that is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh. The obstetrics unit has 22 LDR’s, 15 triage rooms and 6 OB ICU rooms and does about 10,000 deliveries per year. Their obstetrics residency program is one of the top 10 in the country. Family medicine residents from UPMC St. Margaret, UPMC McKeesport and UPMC Shadyside rotate at Magee each month and are integrated with the OB residents seeing patients in triage, labor and delivery and postpartum. The OB generalist service (which is comprised of obstetricians, family physicians and certified nurse midwives) work together to supervise both the obstetric and family medicine residents and fellows on service.
