UPMC Family Medicine Faculty Development for Global Health Focus

UPMC Family Medicine Faculty Development for Global Health Fellowship seeks to prepare physicians for global leadership in Family Medicine Education by building on established training in Family Medicine scholarship and education through international medicine, public health, cultural competence, and healthcare leadership training in international contexts. Graduates will be prepared to contribute to Family Medicine residency training and medical school departments in the US and globally.

Fellows will complete the University of Pittsburgh Department of Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship including
  • Faculty development seminar curricula
  • Family Medicine outpatient clinical care
  • Outpatient resident precepting
  • Inpatient teaching on Family Health Center service
  • The mentored scholarly project focused on Global Health
  • Presentation at STFM Annual Conference
Global Health Fellows will focus on assignments and electives to include
  • Teaching and leadership in monthly integrated global health seminar series
  • INMED Professional Diploma in International Medicine & Public Health
  • Four weeks of international elective time per year
  • Attendance at AAFP Global Health Workshop
Two Year fellows may elect to complete a Masters
